Kelly
Well, Kelly came through her surgery very well. For those who did not know, Kelly is part of a study on weight loss and has lost 46 pounds in the last 5 months. In doing this she got a nasty case of gall stones. Tuesday she had her gall bladder removed along with between 75 and 100 small gall stones about 1/2 the size of a pea. Other than some risidual pain and a few small holes in her stomach she is doing great. Hope everyone is having a great week. - Buzzy

Skype
Just an afterthought... I have skype up and running now. What time do ya'll usually get on so I can call?
Work and School
This week is a whirlwind of work and school preparations. Work has been a bit tedious this week with yearly reports to run and todays work with "Menu Security." Menu security, for those who don't know, is a the set of rules that says who can and cannot get into or even see certain parts of the menu in the programs we administer on my team. And with this set of programs, this is a very confusing and sometimes seemingly contraditory set of rules. Needless to say, today was less than exciting.
Classes for the spring semester start back up on the 12th. After a disasterous and somewhat depressing fall semester, I am looking for more core IS classes to take rather than the support (English, math, etc.) classes. Mostly this is because they are more interesting and they tend to "easier" than many of the others. Kelly of course laughs when I say things like that because her "computer knowledge" is limited to checking her email (which she doesn't do very often), surfing the web, and internet shopping. This last is her favorite, go figure.
At anyrate, everyone at this end of the world is good and we hope that we will get visits or calls from all ya'll out there that we love. Talk at ya'll again soon. - Buzzy

The new year
Well, here it is 2009. I hope that it turns out better than last year did. Kelly and the girls are out selling Girl Scout cookies around the neighborhood. They are doing pretty good. Yesterday was their first day of selling and they sold almost 130 boxes between them in less than 2 hours. Not a bad haul. I'm getting ready to try the "Skype thing" so I can keep in contact with my sisters and Mary (stepmother) better. Wish me luck, it's a new area of computers for me. Imagine that. I have to go back to work tomorrow, and I am SOOOO looking forward to that. Don't get me wrong, I like my job, but getting up in the morning has never been one of my strong suits, even when I was in the Corps. Oh well, C'est la vie.
